CMA Architects & Engineers LLP is an architectural and engineering
firm serving the Caribbean that started its operations in Puerto Rico in 1959.
The firm expanded to become one of the largest in the Caribbean. It was
ranked 496 in the
ENR's Top 500 U.S. Design Firms and 114 in ENR's Top 200 International Firms
in 2006.
The firm occupies its own building with 30,000sq. ft. of office space. The
staff of over 160 full-time regular employees encompasses the fields of architecture,
planning, civil, structural, environmental, mechanical, and electrical engineering. The
firm has a LAN with over 140 users. All drawings are prepared using
either AutoCAD® or Microstation®.
CMA has received several design awards
and its staff is active in several professional societies. Its members have
authored more than fifty papers for architectural and engineering publications. More
than 20 percent of the professional staff hold professional licenses to practice in Puerto
Rico, as well as in the states of Florida, Georgia, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Texas.
The professional staff of the firm has
designed projects in several Latin American countries and on the Continent. The aggregate
value of the construction cost of the projects designed by the firm exceeds 1.2 billion
dollars. The staff is bilingual and familiar with American and local construction
practices and standards.
